Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge

Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge is one of our top picks because of its unique character and the range of facilities on offer. Situated in the grounds of a coffee plantation, we just love how the wooden chalets seem to nuzzle into the lush gardens. We prefer the standard plantation rooms to the luxury suites, as we find them more tasteful, just as comfortable, and less pricey.

We particularly like to use Arusha Coffee Lodge when clients are flying out of Arusha Airport the next day, as the morning transfer is only ten minutes. This is also a great spot for buying some extra special gifts for friends and family before you head off, with a collection of boutiques selling arts and crafts, jewellery, clothes, coffee, cakes and traditional Swahili food.

Perfect end to a long day of driving from Ngorongoro Crater. The welcome ice coffee was amazing and unfortunately not... duplicated in spite of trying the coffee bar at the hotel. Staff was great from arrival to departure. Dinner and adult beverages very well done. Felt we disappointed them at breakfast as we were leaving early for another long day and ate very little but the suggestions sounded amazing. The grounds of the lodge were lovely and it was a wonderful way to end our trip. Our tour company Cryptic Safari did an amazing job putting our private trip together. As with our accommodations I would highly recommend Ben and his guides to anyone wanting to experience a trip of a life time!read more

Regrettably, we only stayed one night here. We were in Africa for 3 weeks and on the tail end of our trip before... returning to the US. It also happened to be my girlfriend’s birthday. I had reached out to the hotel through the info email account trying to keep any celebration plans on the downlow. Did they take the ball and run with it? YES THEY DID!! As we were carried off to our room we were greeted by an all hands staff welcome line singing happy birthday as we rounded the turn to our room. What can I say about the room? Rose petal path with candles flanking throughout the room and a vase of red roses with a nice card from the staff. Have I even mentioned that the same occurred at dinner? What an amazing place. The following morning, we were to depart for Kilimanjaro airport (1 hr 15 minute drive) at 530 am but our tour company failed to complete arrangements. Management at Arusha Coffee Lodge sprung into action and got us a driver within 30 minutes and we still made our flight. Love this place and people…highly recommended!!!read more

We spent 2 nights here before starting on our Serengeti safari. The room was spacious and nicely designed, with a... seating deck. We especially loved the fireplace. At night is got rather cold and coming from Dubai, it took as a bit to get acclimatised to temperatures below 30 degrees. Room didn't have other type of heating, so we made use of the fireplace. The staff was accommodating to bring us firewood and charcoal. They even went as far as placing hot water bottles in the bed for us, which was much appreciated. The food was also delicious, my boyfriend was stoked on their lamb souvlakis. We really liked it more

Perfect location to stay after flying in to JRO, and we were also able to relax here and eat a wonderful family style... meal outside prior to flying out, even though we'd only stayed the one night on the way in. All arranged by our travel agent in the US. Our flight was delayed coming in so we arrived incredibly late local time but were still very kindly served dinner in the bistro. Rooms are beautiful with dark wood beams and white mosquito netting, and we were delighted to find hot water bottles in our beds when we turned in as it was a chilly night!read more

We stayed in Arusha Coffee Lodge as our first stop when we arrived in Tanzania - it was exactly what we needed. The... staff were extremely friendly and made sure we were very comfortable during our stay. The rooms are very spacious, tastefully decorated and well integrated into nature with beautiful views. The staff lit the campfire for us as we had post-dinner drinks - it really made our first night in Tanzania feel special! We would highly more

Very nice hotel and restaurant. We ate twice here and the menu was very similar both times, but good. They serve you... more international things, and not really local food appart from the meet (you'll find things like burgers, quiches and other light snacks), but I guess that's to try to please as much international guests as possible. Everything was clean, fresh and delicious. The staff is also very kind and the decor tasteful. I wish they could just close the doors that lead to the outdoor patio since it can get chilly when seated more
