WITO IMPACT – answering the call of the community!
WITO TRAVEL COMMUNITY – OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Going on an African safari is no doubt a unique experience providing an exciting blend of spectacular scenery, engaging cultural explorations, and wildlife encounters. However, knowing that your visit has directly contributed to enriching the lives of local people, wildlife and the country at large, is definitely more rewarding and memorable. From grassroots levels of providing access to education, offering health and cultural support to improving the livelihood of Maasai women and children, we have established partnerships with carefully selected local charities and non-profit organizations that allow us to give back to communities.
The Wito Effect
“We believe that by involving guests and connecting them directly with the local communities in the places they travel to while on safari with us, they too will be able to empower and make a positive impact to the “host” country.“
~ Abdullie Mfinanga, Founder.
We are proud to support our partnership with the following non-profit organizations:
By working in partnership with Wito Africa Safaris, Glory Salema, Founder of Tanzania Women Guides Foundation is seeking to empower, train and provide practical based programs that will ensure interested female trainees are successful in getting employment in the safari industry.
Tanzania Women Guides Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Tanzania according to the law of Non-profit organization (00009944). As one of only very few female guides in Tanzania, Glory is determined to eliminate the gender disparity in the safari industry in Tanzania and achieve an equal percentage of women tour guides as our male counterparts.
By providing our guests with women tour leaders/guides, we are committed to empowering Glory and other local women in Tanzania to follow their dreams in the safari industry and explore beyond their comfort zones. You can also support Tanzania Women Guides Foundation’s mission to achieve the objective of having 50% of women tour guides by simply asking your trip providers to include women guide in your safari and Kilimanjaro adventure in Tanzania.
At the expressed need, and in partnership with, the people of Makuyuni Maasai village, we work to improve their quality of life by implementing sustainable development projects to improve education, food security, and economic development while protecting their environment and preserving their unique culture.
Wito Women’s Organization group is a platform where women can connect, share inspirational stories of empowerment and find solutions to simple and complex social issues that affect women and children from Tanzania.
We also endorse the following initiatives:
